I could do this in a couple of weeks of playing/practicing.

The problem seems to have eased, i can still wear out a glove in that area but it takes a much longer period of time, about 2 months. Anyone experinced this and have thoughts on the cause?
i actually had a similar problem i have always played with a nuetral to strong grip than i decided to try a weak grip for a cuople rounds . i dont wear a glove never have and after the two rounds i had a big slit in my thumb from the pressure of the grip i couldnt play for a week everytime i hit a shot it just ripped open again. so like you probably discovered already your grip has probably just gotten a lttle weaker over time than you thought
